Our optical laboratory is equipped with instrumentation for high-precision characterization of optical systems. To perform precision metrology measurements we have several laser sources (Nd:YAG) and a pneumatically damped optical bench (size: 1.5 x 2.5 m).
To characterize the quality of optical assemblies and elements up to a diameter of 6” we have:
- Zygo interferometer
- Nikon autocollimator
The laboratory is also equipped with a thermally controlled vacuum chamber that allows us to suppress environmental fluctuations in the low frequency regime, that is, up to 1 mHz and is commonly used to characterize materials used in space applications (such as carbon fiber reinforced plastics) and opto-electronic equipment (such as photodiodes or optical fibers) in a highly stable environment.
We can also calibrate and characterize CCDs, and optically determine spectral responses in the range 300 nm – 1,100 nm.
